Position: Preschool Teacher's Assistant (Early Childhood Education)

 

Responsibilities: 

Assist the Preschool Lead Teacher in the supervision, teaching, and management of a group of children under the age of six years old.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assist the teacher to plan, implement and supervise an appropriate program according to the philosophy of Portland Christian for the assigned class and in close working relationship with other staff.
• Constant and consistent supervision of the children in a positive style of teaching and training.
• Observe, record, and report on individual and group behaviors and injuries.
• Assume a share of the housekeeping responsibilities of the staff.
• Promote parent involvement through parent meetings and communications.
• Attend all staff meeting and events.
• Maintain professional conduct, attitude, appearance, and loyalty at all times; treat all people with respect and dignity.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs

Must be willing to sign the PCS Statement of Faith and Lifestyle Statement. A background check will be run after a preliminary offer of employment is made.

 

Work Week and Hours:
Monday-Friday - days and hours may vary

 

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or AA Degree.
Oregon Registry: Must obtain a step 3 or higher within one year of employment.

 

Pay:  $15.64/hr
