Position: Preschool Teacher's Assistant (Early Childhood Education)

 

Responsibilities: 

Assist the Preschool Lead Teacher in the supervision, teaching, and management of a group of children under the age of six years old.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assist the teacher to plan, implement, and supervise an appropriate program according to the philosophy of Portland Christian for the assigned class and in close working relationship with other staff.
• Constant and consistent supervision of the children in a positive style of teaching and training.
• Observe, record, and report on individual and group behaviors and injuries.
• Assume a share of the housekeeping responsibilities of the staff.
• Promote parent involvement through parent meetings and communications.
• Attend all staff meetings and events.
• Maintain professional conduct, attitude, appearance, and loyalty at all times; treat all people with respect and dignity.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs

Work Week and Hours:
Monday-Friday - 40 hours/wk (FTE 1.0)

 

Term:

Year-round (12 months)

 

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or AA Degree.
Oregon Registry: Must obtain a step 3 or higher within one year of employment.

 

Pay:  $16.95/hr- $18.35/hr
